Giugno – Giosuè Carducci

È il mese dei prati erbosi e delle rose;
il mese dei giorni lunghi e delle notti chiare.
Le rose fioriscono nei giardini, si arrampicano
sui muri delle case. Nei campi, tra il grano,
fioriscono gli azzurri fiordalisi e i papaveri
fiammanti e la sera mille e mille lucciole
scintillano fra le spighe.
Il campo di grano ondeggia al passare
del vento: sembra un mare d’oro.
Il contadino guarda le messi e sorride. Ancora
pochi giorni e raccoglierà il frutto delle sue fatiche.
